I bought a new 2008 C6 Coupe. It did not have Nav in it but I negotiated in the deal to install it, It has been installed, the instruction manual says that I should see the audio functions in street mode and navigation, turn by turn guidance through the HUD and I do not see either one. Can anyone tell me what to look for? I tried finding anything in the function keys that might turn it on and no luck. Do you think maybe the Tech forgot to hook something up, or maybe it needs to be "turned on" in the computer. Maybe for some reason the HUD is not recognizing it. Any thought before I head back to the Dealer? I like to go armed with info when I can!

Thanks, Ray

I believe you're referring to the "HUD". In my experience, I only see Nav info when I've programmed a destination to go to, and in the first mode (street?) on the HUD. Also, if you have paddle shift, when your HUD has no more room to display what gear you're in (such as when Nav info is being displayed), gear info will move to your DIC above the steering wheel. The only time I see info for the stereo is when I change a channel in XM or FM, again in the first HUD mode.

Yes, HUD is what I am talking about, I went in and edited my post, if I could type I would be dangerous! That is exactly what I was talking about, when I have a destination programed I do not see anything in the HUD. I also do not se any info when I change channels like you mention. all I see when in street mode is a digital speedo and turn signal indications. I have a manual so I get no gear info.

I should add that the audio info I see is momentary, it will display for a few seconds and go away. As far as the Nav info, it will display when the info is pertinent, such as when you're 1/2 mile from a turn. It will show a arrow for the turn direction and a verticle progress bar for the distance. If you are miles away from a turn (or?), it may not display anything. I have not read or seen anything that disables or turns the system on. May be time for a trip back to the dealer. Good luck.

I agree.

i say next time save your money and go out and buy a aftermarket dash mount unit ..for a fraction of the cost you can get what in my opinion is a better unit and you can always throw it in another car if you want....sure its nice to have it integrated into the dash but $$
