Welcome to "NCM Central", the electronic news report from the National Corvette Museum. Here you will find news on NCM events and happenings, Corvette Store specials, GM Corvette Assembly Plant updates, Corvette Racing reports and more.

DISPLAY YOUR CORVETTE WITH US

The Museum is constantly changing exhibits and displays, and we invite you to display your Corvette with us. Several display spots will be opening in the coming months and we are looking for Corvettes to showcase that have stock appearance and wheels and can be displayed for a minimum of six months. If you are interested in displaying your Corvette as a representation of America’s Sports Car to thousands of guests who visit us each year, please send photo and detailed information on your Corvette to Betty Hardison at the National Corvette Museum, 350 Corvette Drive, Bowling Green, KY 42101. The Exhibit Committee may select your car to help us tell the story of Corvette to the World!

BUILDING CAMPAIGN REACHES $250,000 MILESTONE

To date, the Building Campaign has generated $252,000 in donations and pledges since the official announcement prior to the 50th Celebration. Many thanks go out to our members, after market supplier/sponsors and supporters working to help us reach our goal. The “Building For Corvette’s Next 50 Years” campaign series will end December 31, and a new gift incentive promotion series will begin January 1, 2004. Gift items, floor plan addition layout, and additional details on donating can be found online at:

http://www.corvettemuseum.com/building/index.shtml or call (800) 53-VETTE.

Check with your employer to see if they will match your charitable giving.

GM BRIEFS FROM THE CORVETTE PLANT

The Commemorative Edition Corvette is on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show according to a recent report from the GM Corvette Assembly Plant. Limited to just 150 units and available only in Europe, this special version is GM’s homage to the highly successful motor sports career of the C5-R racing version – including triumphs at the 24 Hours of LeMans and represents a celebratory farewell to the fifth generation Corvette. While the V8 engine with its 5.7-liter displacement 253 kW/344 hp is the same unit as in the standard Corvette, engineers have enhanced the special version’s suspension for a sportier performance.
