NCRS Orlando Regional Gets New Home

For those of you who haven't heard, the Orlando Hyatt closed September 11, 2003. This left the Florida Chapter without a location for their 26th annual winter meet.

Good news: We have arranged to hold the meet at Old Town, about 1-2 miles east of the Hyatt on US 192.

Old Town is famous for its cruise nights and has hosted numerous car shows. There's plenty of hotel/motel rooms within a very short distance (and a good deal less $$ than the Hyatt). Dates are the same: Jan 21-25, 2004.

I agree...Old Town is cool, but how in the heck will there be room for all the events???? swap meet, auction, show cars..vendors...???????

Great news, Bill! Do you have a host hotel yet or a list of hotels within walking distance for those of us who may put our cars on the judging "field"?

Let me first say that this information is still tentative. We're still working out the details. The Old-Town location has been confirmed.

There is a large field right next to Old-Town that is used for overflow parking. I believe that's where the swap meet will be located. There is an additional parking lot in the rear that will be used for the auction and overflow. The cars will be placed on the cruise lane! (Since I'm the "official" CPA - Car Parking Attendant - this'll be fun!)

There's a Days Inn/Suite right next door and they have a special rate for that weekend of $49 a nite for a suite. 800-327-9126.

There's nearly every type of restaurant you can think of within a mile, most within a short walk. (A Krispy Kreme bakery/store just down the street, too!)

Were you at Octobervette?

I was looking around at the large lot to one side picturing the NCRS show being there.

Still seems like a tight squeeze. Especially when you consider spectator parking.

It is going to be cozy tight...but should be fun.

I couldn't make Octobervettes this year but I've been to Old Town a number of times. I'll probably stop by on my way home from an NCRS FL Chapter show at Howey-In-The-Hills next weekend to check it out.

Old Town has been very cooperative and I'm looking forward to having some fun at a new place, too!

I could have gotten away with it last year, but it was nothing but salt & flying gravel & rocks for the first 100 miles. I told one Vette owner at a rest stop my BMW was really a Euro model Vette. At least I had an NCRS sticker on the window.
