My 71's OLD alt bracket also used the driver side exhaust manifold as part of bracket hard-point ... manifold had a special factory threaded boss for this. Bracket is a stamped metal affair that bolts to WP. You gonna run headers? I didn't like the cheezy stamped bracket & got a cast one from a sbc pickup truck ... pu bracket bolts directly to head ... just like later C3 ... totally independent of exhaust. Either style still use the long arm for adjust.
