I've been looking at outdoor car covers and was wondering if anyone was really happy with their cover and would recoomend one to me. I am not looking to spend a bunch of money, kind of middle of the road cover both in price and quality, if they exist. If I have to, I will buy a real good one, if that seems to be the consenses out there but I was just hoping for a good basic cover. Thanks for your suggestions.

I use the Wolf Noah fitted cover for my 02Z.My car sits out all the time and this cover does a good job.

Sheds water well.Car gets just barely damp.Bungee it across the sides, back & front.

As an extra measure,I park the car on rubber mats so they won't flat spot if it sits for a week or two.

One of the questions that I'd ask of members who have covers, especially those that are Corvette custom or Corvette specific, is the ease that they go on and off.

I was selling a top line Honda for a deceased member of our church and it came with a top-line fitted cover (forget the name), but it was the best and ... best of all it was easy on and easy off. It had clips and fasteners in just the right places. When I bought a cover for my Vette years later (off the shelf in the local auto store but top line) .... is was for a generic sports car (Vette was listed) .... but the fasteners or lack thereof were a nightmare.

Unlike the Honda cover this was a fifteen minute job and included down on your knees ..... no good contact points and usually, it ended up blowing half off if the wind got strong.

If it is a custom cover with all of the clips and lines in the right places ... it will be a joy ... :rotfl

If it's one size fits most ... kinda ... it will be a :bash

Hey, what is with the rubber mats? What kind, how thick? I just put mine away for the winter but did not use rubber mats under the tires.

Thanks

None are good. The NOAH is probably the best I have used, but it will let moisture through and it will let fine dust through. It works much better it you put an inexpensive cover over the NOAH.

I bought a 'Evolution' cover for my C-3 and it was a breathable cover made by Kimberly/Clark and was a sung cover that was cut and sewn for a custom fit to a curves of a C-3. it had two brass fittings at the middle where you could fit the steel cable cover lock. It worked very well and the cable kept the cover from being blown off even in heavy winds.

I am also looking for a cover for my c5 convertible. I am looking for easy on-off, dust protection, and as much abrasion protection as possible as I have 3 dogs that pass by frquently. I do not need weatherproof as it is always garaged when not in use. Appreciate any suggestions

I think the idea of a "basic cover" which also is a real good outdoor cover is unrealistic. A "good basic cover" is going to be a modestly priced cover used mainly indoors.

A cover which will give good protection and long life outdoors is not going to be cheap because, not only must it protect, but the cover itself must be durable, ie: you don't want to buy a new one every 18 months because the material gets degraded by the sun or weather.

I've used three kinds of covers over the years. Inexpensive units I bought at Costco (can't remember the brand) which were good for indoor only, a Wolf cover which was indoor/oudoor (but didn't work well on my C5 Z06 because of the fixed antenna and the unacceptable manner in which Wolf has customers deal with making a hole for the antenna) and two covers from California Car Cover.

While Wolf and California Car Cover offer many of the same materials (Kimberly-Clark "Noah" and etc), I felt the manufacturing of the California Car Cover product was better, the manner in which CCC addresses fixed-mast radio antennas was far better and California Car Cover's customer service was better.

If I was going out today to buy another cover, I'd get it from Cal Car Cover. Cal Car Cover

Thanks, I purchased the Coverking Silverguard. Do you have any experience or know how this cover is?
