Help! Need an ECM for 1984 C4, or how to eliminate the ECM.

I've got a 1984 C$ with a bad and irreparable ECM. I sent it off to be rebuilt, but the rebuilder said the circuit boards are beyond repair. I looked all over the Web for a replacement to no avail. Anybody know where I might find a replacement? Can an ECM fro other years be used? Can I replace the TBI with a carburetor in order to eliminate the ECM? Thanks.

Can install any SBC 4bbl intake and suitable size carb -
Will need a non ECM controlled SBC distributor (HEI ) and if like the TPI cars , you will lose the MPG readout
