Need help with headlight actuator

JonM just found the Shop manual on Amazon (66 - 82 years) for only $18, so I'll just look for the Assembly manual there, also. The Assembly manual is year specific, but not the Shop Manual, right? I think that's right.

Thanks! :)

Chevrolet Corvette shop manual is specific for each year ...Check Ebay for the original manual.

Heah Stallion,
You might want to take a look at which shop manual your getting from Amazon as if you look in all the Vette catelogs they all show a shop manual but its not the right one you want. Its not year specific! You want the one that was put out by GM for the dealerships.Look on Ebay and you will see what the real one looks like.If the price you found is only $18.00 I'm pretty sure its NOT the one your looking for!
Lookup the shop manual on Corvette Central to see what they should look like as the real ones will sell for at least $40.00(used-they are all used)unless you find a sleeper on Ebay and get it for less.

Okay, intex99, I will look for it. But due to the reasons that there are things that I need to learn about and work on the Vette, I'm going to have to order the Assembly manual really soon even if I don't get the Shop manual right away. Because the Assembly manual is the one with all the technical aspects of my Vette, right? And the shop manual won't really help me with those things, but I do still want to have it. Correct?

Thanks again! :)

TR,

The SHOP manual is the one you need for doing repairs and learing about your car's internals. It provides trouble-shooting tech. and guides for fixing things.

The ASSEMBLY manual shows details of the body, frame, interior and what is or was required to build your car. It also has some of the specs, and parts numbers associated with your car. Most parts numbers are outdated or have changed during the last 25 ~ 30 years but can usually be crossreferenced.

Okay, thanks, Bud! I will be sure to get both of them, then. And also thanks for the PM and the link to the Shop Manual. Hopefully we can get these as soon as possible so I can read up on the Vette and it's technical side to help me work on her better.

Thanks! :D
