Could you give me some symptoms you are experiencing?

Does it start well cold?

Does it have a high idle when cold?

Does it bog down when hot? At low speeds? At high speeds?

Any "Check Engine" lites coming on?

SAVE THE :w

nope

car starts fine when its cold then starts to run poor sound flat thru the exhuast I do have a high perform cat with the slp cat back exsht..on it so you can hear the difference. There is no smoke there is no lifters tapping and there is no check engine lights on ..

I hooked a ob11 snap on computer onto it and has spark cylinders all fired right ..

this thing is killing me I have checked all the connections and have had most modules checked, The guy at the chevy dealer Hates this car ..

I have had the cylinders pressure checked as well even had vavles checked they looked good..

I know the motor is not in a Corvette, but it's still a Corvette motor, so I moved this thread to the C4 Tech forum. Hopefully you'll have better visiablity here.

I had the car at our local corvette dealer and they did a very good test which was only 90 dollars and they finally figured out whats wrong..

The Oil shaft seal is leaking and causing the distributor to foul out.So My new question is I bought a new Distrib,

What shop did you take your car too? I used to take my '78 to Stallion Corvette, in Virginia Beach all the time.

Good luck with the replacement. :upthumbs

No, the OptiSpark Distributor will not come with the oil shaft seal.

Your friendly, neighborhood, Chevy dealer will be able to sell you the seal.

OR you can call Chris May at Superior Chevrolet at 1-800-728-8267 and tell him Gregory in Chicago told you to call him.
