Need Idle help Please!

Ok, when I start the car cold after sitting all night I have the following.

1) turn key, fires right up
2) within 2 seconds the idle slows and slows and the car dies.
3) start it again, hold the gas to maintain idle speed and it runs fine ( slight miss)
4) drive a couple of miles and it will idle on its owne though a bit slow.

Sounds like your IAC (Idle Air Control) motor. Look down the list in the last couple of days there was a thread on the same problem. It was posted by rrhayden under the name IAC problem.

yep, that was mine, just want to be sure that I am not just changing parts. I also disconected the vacuum line to the brakes to see if added air would cause it to idle. The answer is yes! Now I just want to know how to test the valve so I know it is not somthing else.
