Sometime those are the hardest problems to repair.

If you would take a look at the book writen by Charles O. Probst How To Understand, Service And Modify Corvette Fuel Injection in Chapter 7 Fuel Delivery-the Circulatory System Page 150 "Fuel Tanks Fuel tanks are lightly pressurized - about 1 psi to reduce the evaporation of HC and other pollutants into the atmosphere."

LoL, I just got that book.. I will read... just kinda odd to me.. I guess the pressure build up would have to come from the temperature.. and the gas/vapors expanding... actually no that isn't odd.. now that I think of it because if it were under a vaccum the gas would turn to vapor easier equal librium(can't spell).. the light bulb went ON..

vig is right. But i'm surprised know one told you not to use fuel inj.cleaner this will ruin your inj. your inj, are self cleaning!

offshore..... I as a rule never use additives in my cars but I did know the last owner of my car and he would put any kind of fuel in the tank... he didn't care. I always like to start as clean as possible. I change all of the lubricant's like the automatic trans.... the rear end gear . Here I do use positraction additive .....I flush the brake fluid and replace with silicone type.... I flush the cooling system and replace with dex cool and of course I change oil and filter and replace the oil with Moible one. All of the filters are changed and I replace the charcoal canister. P C Valve and I get all the change from under the seats. Then my wife goes into orbit because I told her this was a good vette. She... like a lot of others can not grasp the concept of maintenance. But what does she know anyway .She drives a Found On Road Dead.....Bob

Good news

TO get your instant message..go to the top user bar where it has the word calender.. to the far right it states user CP ( for control panel). You can do all that IM stuff through there.

As far as my procedure for parts replacement is concerned.

The pumps fail around 60-80K miles.

The relay is a known failure part and cheap.

The fuel filter is a good preventitive maintance item, and is ignored quite often.

I'll bet if you are stranded you would pay 4 times the amount to fix that stuff right then & there.

I do it to AVOID getting stranded.

Just my .02

Vigman .... Thanks for your help. I agree with you . The relay I bought from A C Delco dealer came in a white box inside a delco box. The relay had " made in china " on it ....cheap labor. I blacked it out . I hated to open my hood and see all the goodies and "made in china ' on one part. My vette runs really good now I guess it was going bad since I bougth it back in Aug.02. I had owned a 81 C3 and when I drove this one it was faster even with the weak pump. Now it's Zoom... Zoom.... Zoom... Yeah Zoom Zoom .... Thanks again.....Bob
