I'm in the process of installing a parking brake handle between the two seats from the 67 model year into my 63 project. I will need to cut the consul area to glass in the new mount, and I would need a close up picture (s) of the position of the handle, and the bare tunnel area from an original 67 installation. Thank's to those who will take the time to respond.

Stepinwolf,

I must be making a clone of your car, I plan on switching the 65 to a 67 parking brake setup too. Also you will need to plan for the pulley wheel on the tranny crossmemer. I ended up using a crossmember from bowtie overdrive for a c-3, the pulley is already attached.

Chuck,

I was once told by a very prominent member of the Forum, that " Great minds think alike " I can once again appreciate the profound wisdom of his words.;)

If you think about it, it's logical to install it between the seats, where it is easily accessible, and also does not interfere with any of the under dash components, not to mention it also looks better.

In my case there will not be any installation problems related to the wheel, or X-member, because I have retrofit a new 76 frame under my SWC, and not only is the wheel is in place, but I also have the benefit of a removable X-member.

Now if only the Corvette Gods could smile down on me and have someone come up with the correct metal installation bracket, and this being Xmas time, maby even a small section of the fiberglass tunnel so that I could bond it correct in place, and have everything look decent. Keep me informed of your installation. :D
