anyone know what the xxx reading on the tires pressure system means? is the sensor broken or does it need new tires. thanks.

Mine will do that once in a while. Once or twice a year. It stays on untill the next off/on cycle and then goes away. Mostly it happens when I'm in a toll waiting line at the one of our bridges.

thanks,

the tires are new and it has been on for 1 months now.. ?? well i guess it really does not matter to much.

First things first. Do you have any Diagnostic Trouble Codes in your Driver Information Center? Check here if you don't know how to find this out and let us know what codes you have set.

Some info from the service manual:

The IPC will default to display all tire pressure as XXX kPa (XX psi) if the receiver is unable to receive or send tire pressure data, and a DTC will set.

Also, something else to consider-- some tires have a bit too much steel in them or in the sidewalls and block the RF signal that the Tire Pressure Sensor attempts to send the receiver module. What brand and model of tire did you just put on?

Fred

My one tire pressure monitor doesn't work, just haven't gotten around to changing it. When it was first going bad it would give me "low tire pressure" and "flat rl tire". Now it just comes up as xxx pressure and never sends the messages. It does say to service tire mon. system though.

i put on the Michilian Pilot Sport zero Pressue. They are thicker, MUCH quieter. They dont look as well but i can have a conversation in the car on the highway now!!
