If you send your m/cylinder to most any supplier, they can have them rebuilt and sleeved, however I would like to go to their source.

Has anyone gone through the process, and if so, with who. ?

I used these guys a couple of times now. For me there no other place to go. Send it it out to them, next thing you know you have it back. I have always had fast service from them. Also let them know what finish you want on it when done

It seems like every time this topic comes up on any Corvette site that White Post is recommended. I have never used them but they have an excellent reputation as a restorer and rebuilder of components.

I only use Brake & Equipment Warehouse, 800-233-4053, ask for Rob in the shop. They use stainless sleeves vs. whitepost's brass/bronze. They also guarantee the cylinder when using silicon brake fluid, Whitepost warranty is voided if you use silicon. Plus Whitepost doesn't do their own work, they send it out. I hear it goes to a guy in Florida.

I had nothing but headache's from Whitepost... cylinders leaking, check valves missing, etc. They wouldn't stand behind their warranty and Billy just laughed! Been using B&E for the past 2 years, They've done about 10 masters for me, and dozens of wheel cylinders. Less expensive than Whitepost.

Billy at White Post has done about a dozen master cylinders for me over the years, plus two car sets of priceless/irreplaceable 60's Ferrari aluminum master and slave cylinders and aluminum calipers. Never had a problem (they do the work in-house). :)

Then they must be good. Just keep B&E's number handy!:upthumbs

White Post, at least 2 years ago sent some of their work to Ed Strain, in FL.

See these issues on various AACA forums:

Also might want to search whitepost on the CCCA forum. Their issue with silicon fluid is rather well known.

Thank's to all who took the time to respond.

I spoke to White Post, and for his 150$ + charges, ( small, single master cylinder ) it turns out to be more profitable to sell it as a core with the booster, rather then having it rebuilt.

I would just buy a rebuild kit, send the MC unit to a local machine shop to get it honed and put it all back together myself.
