Looking for advice.

I have upgraded my power plant and burned a new chip. I am very happy with the results. My 85 now has a whopping 60K on it, and I would like to upgrade the brakes. I already plan and stainless lines to replace the rubber hoses, but I am looking for suggestions on new rotars and calipers, or is there just some better pads out there. Also any suggestions on other upgrades to do while the stuff is off.

I'm not 100% sure on this but some of the larger brakes may not work on the 16" wheels from the '85 'Vette, assuming that your wheels are the stock size. You've spent this much money already, may as well go 17" or 18" on the wheels. :D

C-4 Brake Booster

I recently replaced the power brake booster in my '84 with a custom built "dual diaphragm" unit, and wow, what an improvement!!! It feels like I spent $2000 on a new C-5 brake system, but it only cost me about $400. Definitely well worth the money! It was an easy upgrade. The new booster fit right in with no modifications. Didn't even have to disconnect my hydraulic brake lines. I don't think I can make a commercial plug here, but if you're interested, send me a PM (Private Message). :) :) :)

Personally, I think if a product is good, you plug it. You plug it so everyone knows about it since it's a good product.

It is a good product! It really does make a big improvement in the braking performance. This dual diaphragm booster is available from SAC Hot Rod Products, Orange CA. Phone: 714-997-3433.

It was an easy upgrade, and is available for any C-4 except the ZR-1. The ZR-1 already has a dual diaphragm booster, but it has a different mounting pattern.

Thanks..I will check them out. Working on spending the $$$ so the wife cant

J55 13" brakes will fit behind the early 16/9.5 wheels. I had to file the outside of the calipers down about an 1/16 inch before they didn't scrape the inside of the wheels on my 87.
