Purchased and received new glass t-tops for my '75 (for 78-82...will fit 68-77 with minor adjustment). Instructions indicate how to adjust and fit to years prior to '78. What I ended up with was a fit that was less than desirable. It seems that they butt up against each other in the middle (no gap at all), and the driver side sits a bit more forward than the passenger side. There seems to be too much gap at the rear on the drivers side. However; the passenger side release lever rubs the inside pillar post and the strange part is,the passenger side is the one that seems to be positioned best in relation to the gap relating to the rear.
I'm beginning to suspect that my windsheild frame is out of whack (I do have a drivers side leak from the windsheild) Currently, I have it at a 'Vette shop to have some other work done and have asked them to check it out. I suspect with the backog of cars they have, it will be another week before I hear anything. Has anyone purchased and installed these types of tops with similar alignment issues?
All opinions welcome...I'm stumped.
