Ok, so my OEM battery went dead this past Sunday in my 04 Coupe and I purchased a Exide Platinum Series 86-8.
It has 630 CCA @ 0 degrees, 785 CCA @ 32 degrees
and a 90 RC

So now I'm finding out that 90 RC isn't enough and I should have gone with AC-Delco 86-7YR. which has a 120 RC

Is that extra 30 minutes THAT critical ?

Maybe I should have watched C4C5Specialist' video on the subject

I see three choices : Try to return it and exchange for a 120

Give it to your wife as an anniversary gift

Live with it

I'd go for option #2

After some though I think all you'll loose is the length of time the battery will maintain it's charge .If the car is driven often you might not even notice .

I say go back and watch the C4C5 Specialist's video -- it is the best!

One thing that impacts battery life is cranking from a battery that is less than full charge. Even cars driven daily are not kept at full charge, especially for short trips in very cold or very hot temps when heater/air conditioner is in use. Keep a car on a trickle charger if not used regularly and for everyday used car, put it on a charger once or twice a month overnite. That will make a huge difference in battery life.

Even if you buy a different battery I would suggest that you invest in a Battery Tender Jr. and use it when the car lays more than a week.

The best price I have found is at www.Derbycycles.com in Shelbyville, KY at $19.99 plus about $6 for shipping.

I use them for all my power equipment on the farm and the BT Jr. really extends the life of any battery.

Keep 'em rollin':W

your car is ruined
sell it to me cheap :rotfl

seriously , don't worry about it

Red Top, Yellow Top, Pink Top, WTF

Hey gang...what's wrong with replacing the battery with an OEM AC/Delco?

I personally wouldn't use any battery that can leak

Not a Damn Thing!~!! "Keep your GM vehicle,ALL GM"!~!!:beer

Where you been?~?? AC Delco fixed that problem 7-8 years ago!~!! :D

The Delco is the only way to go, for me.

And I would have gone with a Delco if....I could have gotten one on Sunday, which was followed up by a Holiday on Monday !

Watch the video...it's very informative.

So Mark, are you saying that you wouldn't replace with an AC Delco?

Not untill they offer an AGM battery. My original 01 battery was a AGM. It was 7 years old when I replaced it. Just thought it was time. But I also knew it would never leak. Both oem Delco's in my 2000 Silverado were replaced because of leaks.

I can recommend a similar product called BatteryMINDer Plus; I use a BatteryMINDer on my vehicles that remain mostly-stationary at this point in time... :eyerole It's more expensive than the Battery Tender; but it also desulfates the battery, and comes with a quick-disconnect set of leads that you can attach to the battery terminals for fuss-free connections/disconnections.

Best price I've found on the BatteryMINDer is directly from Northern Tool + Equipment ($39.00 + S & H) or on Amazon.com (who apparently just turns the order directly over to Northern Tool + Equipment; so unless you're ordering additional stuff through Amazon, you're probably just as well going to the source...).

If I can hear it slosh , then it's not going in my car

I didn't mention anything about brand
