Well...life doesn't get any better when you're behind the wheel of a Vette!! I purchased my '88 Vette 4 weeks ago and haven't stopped yet. I have always wanted one since childhood, and since I haven't grown up in the past 30 years, I finally bought one. It was in exceptionally good shape, both mechanically and physically. It is all original, 82k miles when I bought it and I am the third owner. It has nearly all the options possible on it and 2 weeks after I bought it, I went to a Corvette show, and joined a club. A lifelong dream has FINALLY occurred!! My wife and daughters are ecstatic, yet noone drives it but me. Gotta lay down the law sometimes. The interior carpeting is new, new tires, all stainless exhaust, door panels are in great shape, and I couldn't be happier with the car and the condition it is in. I have been looking for many years (about 10) and it is true, that eventually one will fall into your lap. I got it at a steal and well below the appraised value of $10.7K. Gas prices dont mean a thing when you have one, thats for sure. From day one of purchase, I have been smiling and waving as I pass other Vette drivers. It truly is a great feeling to finally own one.

Randy,

Congrats and welcome to the Corvette world!:w It's a great thing to drive the Vette' after a long day at work isn't it?

Congratulations! I've had my '88 for a little over 3 months now and the excitment never goes away. I'm going to be depressed when winter gets here and I have to put her away for a few months. Post a picture when you get a chance.

Happy Days and welcome to the CAC!

I bought my '88 about 2 years ago.
I had 4 different Vettes when I was younger.
This one made me feel like a teenager again [I'm not a teenager].
Now, I even tuned it up myself & do all the maintenance myself.
Its alot of fun, you will definately enjoy owning it.
I consider it a toy, not a car.

Wow! Congrats!

I rememer when I first got mine! :_rock

Randy,

Congratulations on your new Corvette! I've had 5 Corvettes, and one of my very favorites was a yellow 1988 convertible, lovingly called "Lemon Peel"!! I absolutely loved that car, as you will yours!:love

Congratulations on your Corvette... your post reminds me of that “feeling” you have when you finally acquire the Corvette you have been wanting. The Vette has the uncanny ability to bring out nothing but good feelings — those emotions never go away.

You’ll catch yourself just staring at your ‘88 even while it’s parked, it’s ok, it’s normal.

Enjoy your new ride!

Randy, Congrats and welcome to:CAC . You will find out very quickly that the people here are amazing! I've only been here for a few days (I'm still learning to navigate the CAC) and the folks are so friendly! Love your new baby all you can. Will she be your daily driver? Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. :D. What a thrill to make your dream come true! Susan:w

Thanks to all and Hello!!

I'd just like to say thanks to all who responded. I have spent nearly 5 hours here today, researching, reading and gathering info on the car. Learned a few new things and the info and people here are great! Thanks to all for welcoming me the "family". I formerly owned a 74 Nova that I completely rebuilt form the ground up, with all the necessary mods to make it a fun street car, and a 68 Chevy Shortbed pickup, which also had mods and was lowered tad. Nothing will ever compare to having this Vette. I have pics of the Vette and will post in the AM. Again, thanks to all.

Randy

Congratulations on the Vette. Looks like the twin of mine. I've been very happy with mine and hope you will be too.

Welcome. Nice ride...
Is it a Z51 or Z52?

It's a Z52 Coupe. Its all original equipment, nothing has been added or changed, except for maybe the small spoiler on the back. Even the top glass is original. It has a few minor problems (antenna motor runs-no up/down motion, bad circuit breaker for the rear hatch release, dash goes on and off-illumination problem). But theres not anything that cant be fixed later on. Just enjoying riding around in it and watching people look.

Ok...now that I have this right, how about these??

What a sweet ride ! I'll bet you haven't stopped smiling since the first time you planted yourself behind the wheel. :J I know how hard it is to conceal that 'vette grin! :D So don't even try.

:v (a lot ! ! ! !)
