I would like to jump in and say congrats also on the C 5. I have the
same thing only in a vert. You will love it. :Steer

Jane, I will say that you sure do know how to pick the scenes to show
off the Vette. Got to get you to find one for me. :gap

Thanks a bunch... but I can't take all the credit... MsSchroder was taking pix and directing me where she wanted the Vette. The one posted above was taken next to a mountain stream at the Tapoco Lodge in Robbinsville NC. The one in my signature was taken while I was driving on Hwy 129 aka Tail of the Dragon in NC/TN.

Ok I will take the pat on the back as it was my idea to Tammy when she was taking some pictures for me at Tapoco. I wanted to get the bridge in the background for some of my Corvette pictures.

I had asked her before we ever left (PM'd) on the way to Cruisefest. if maybe I could get her to take some photo's for me. I will say this, Tammy took some great photos for me! Thanks again!

Tammy takes great photos! We discussed pictures of both our Vettes in emails prior to the trip. That's how the plans for the trip to the Tavern ruins came about. Unfortunately, she sold her Vette just weeks before our pilgrimage but she was still gung-ho about taking photos.

Howard, lucky for us that you noticed that nice bridge for a backdrop! ;) Thanks!

Ok, Help me out here, what is this post suppose to indicate? The tail light seals? If so "WHY?" no one can answer the questions or give a reason for even doing it.

I agree, so I have a new question to ask, TorchRedC5...

Since no one can or has answered the question about the need for/adviseability regarding tail light seals, Why are we continuing to discuss it?

Let it go... end of subject.

Dear Mr. Patrick...

Hello TorchRedC5.

Thanks a million! I really appreciate it. I too get upset when I see price gouging of anything 'Vette related. I've ordered a few things from the vendors and it ****es me off that they overcharge on shipping. I ordered something that could have been put in a 37 cent envelope and I was charges $9-$10 shipping because of the price of the item. I can't believe there are still nice people like you sending free stuff...Oh well, good karma will come to you.
Your Corvette Friend in Pacific, CA.

Torch,

Maybe I missed something, but I didn't read anywhere that you were asked not to give away a product. That's nice of you to share with your fellow Corvette owners.

I was under the impression that Patrick suggested the subject had run its course because questions were being asked about the purpose and need for the seals - and those questions were seemingly being overlooked or ignored.

I don't understand why you would state that you won't be talking about them or giving them away "thanks to a couple of moderators", because unless it took place in a thread I missed, I haven't seen a moderator challenge your generosity.

JMO. And as I said, maybe I missed something.

It would be nice for some informaton on why the seals are needed in the frist place. I might be interesetd if they in fact keep most of the crud from accumulating on the tail light lip.

OK heres some help for you...

Keeps out dust, keeps out water, fills the ugly gap around the tail lights (many people complain of poor fit), on all color Vettes except black, the seals slightly seperate the red tail light color from the bumper color and make the red tail lights look more distinct by having a small black border around them and most importantly ...after you wash and rinse your car , water drips out from around the tail lights leaving a trail of water and grime down the rear of the bumper ...this is the biggest complaint from C5 owners...the seals end all of that...
Hope that helps answer your original question:beer

I'd like to know what Jane Anne missed, as well, as I appear to have also missed it. ;shrug

Torch, I certainly never asked you not to share your concept with other Corvette members who express an interest. All I asked is if we could drop the subject, since this a thread welcoming a new member, not continuing to hash over the already beaten down subject of tail light seals.

If tail light seals are going to continue to be discussed, can we have those discussion in the appropriate thread? Thanks.
:)

Of course, Patrick...I did have a thread talking about the seals and Miss Schroder locked it because she got tired of it...:L .....like I said many times...I have been floating the "do you have tail light seals" question to see who I could give a free set to....:)

My thread got hijacked by Chrisr... starting to shift the subject to flush mount tail lights and Miss Schroder then said...

"I've reread this thread trying to see where the "hijacking" has occurred and frankly, an offhand remark in a post that is otherwise on topic just doesn't seem so abominable to me.

At any rate, I think we're done here.

Tammy"

Chrisr apologized for hijacking the thread:L

Chrisr said:
...... And if anyone hijacked this thread, I did by bringing up the flush mount tail-lite lenses. For that I apologize. Never meant to hijack the thread.
..So there..the hijacker even admitted hijacking my thread....but evidentally Miss Schroder was tired of it...
And BTW Patrick...I forgive him for the hijack..he seems like a nice person:upthumbs

And of course I will comply with your "suggestions"...all of them...I don't want you to ban me...yet...I'd be nuts to fight or argue with you in open forum....that would get me banned quickly...since you are one of the "rulers" here ...how could I do anything else but comply...?
Have a safe and pleasant 4th Patrick;)

Interesting. Thank you, Torch.

I've made no suggestions. Only requests. How you respond to those requests will determine what happens. You see, you're being presented with a choice. Choices are interesting things, because they always seem to come with consequences, both positive and negative.

I wasn't aware we were in some sort of fight. My job here is to be an informational reference, to help resolve disputes and to provide a bit of leadership. Not to fight. I find fighting in an online context to be something that easily becomes pointless. Part of what Moderators do is draw attention the pointlessness of it, and end it quickly. I'm sorry if you think this is some sort of fight, as no one here has tried to provoke one.

As for being banned, or me being one of the "rulers" here, that's a bit of melodrama, if I may say so. At the CAC, we ban only as a last resort, and only after multiple chances to reform are offered. And as a forum Moderator, you should know that whatever authority I have is provided at the discretion of the Administrators- people like Ms. Schroder who closed your thread when it was found to have no useful purporse in prolonging it. In short, I'm as answerable to responsible leaders of this forum as you are.

I hope you'll come to see the CAC as something different from the other Corvette sites you've visited. Have a happy Independence Day!

Right Click...Save...Print...Frame...That was great!..... Patrick;LOL

Why would you be aware that we were in some sort of fight...I never said we were fighting anywhere in my post...(see below, since you left most of what I said out of this post)

TorchRed04 said:
....If you read it again you will see that I said..."I'd be nuts to fight or argue with you in open forum"...

Did that mean to you that we were in fact fighting? Noooooooo You are fully aware of what I meant..(you sly devil):L

You seem to selectively leave out things that I said in my post that are relevent in this discussion...one being the statement from Chrisr about him hijacking my thread and apologizing for doing so..etc, etc...

I don't think I have to list all of the things you left out...:)

I see no need to further debate anymore in this thread with you because you will just come back with an eloquent answer which is not necessary...
Patrick...let agree to just drop any further discussion on this thread...the longer the exchange goes on the worse it looks for both of us...(then it will be perceived as if we are in fact "fighting"...even though we aren't...)
You have made some valid points here and so have I so...I'm out of here...
You also have a happy and healthy 4th of July!;) :beer
