New Corvette Buyers Tour
To heighten our Corvette buyers’ purchasing experience, the museum now offers a Corvette Buyers Tour. Costing $350, these VIP tours give new Corvette buyers the chance to watch their “dream” being birthed. Texan Steven Caver was here on Cinco de Mayo for his VIP tour.
After seeing thenew Z06, Steven, whoalready owns a ‘04 convertible, said those five words GM loves to hear: “I
have to have one!” So last September, Steven and his wife Jann put theirnames on a waiting list at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, Texas (Corvette’s #2volume dealer in America). Friday, accompanied by his personal tour guide from the museum, the retired U.S. Postal inspector watched as workers skillfully assembled 1,376 parts into one black on black mechanical marvel.
This wasn’t Steven’s first visit. “I toured the plant last year and was impressed with how clean it was and how friendly the workers were,” he remarked.
Behind the scenes, complicated logistics are involved in matching up an owner with a build date. However, level scheduling is really what makes these tours possible, just as the kindness from Bowling Green Assembly employees is what makes such tours memorable.
Hours later, after pictures, First Start, a drive through DVT, and numerous congratulations, Steven commented, “This tour was a great experience, and I highly recommend it!” The only thing missing was Jann. Steven’s favorite Lone Star State kindergarten teacher just couldn’t get away.
Lori Bieschke from the Corvette Museum says they’ve had a favorable response, with seven signing up for this special tour in May. So to all future Corvette owners, if you want the ultimate buying experience, consider the Corvette Buyers Tour. Because nothing beats being there!
For more information on the Corvette Buyers Tour, please visit www.corvettemuseum.com and click on Buyers Tour. One other tour note: Times for the plant’s public tours are now 9:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:15 p.m. These tour times allow for shorter waits and for more of our assembly process to be seen.
