Hi new to the forum! After longing for a 'vette ever since i was a kid, I finally got one two weeks ago! I bought a 1989 Bright Red C4 coupe with 76,000 original miles and in really good shape. I'm loving it. It was funny because I had my heart set on a C3 as those were what I grew up with. There was an '82 and the '89 at the Corvette center here in Colorado Springs that I test drove. I REALLY wanted the '82, but after I drove the '89, I forgot all about the C3. Already this forum has answered a lot of questions I've had. You guys rock!

Glad to have ya.My first vett kept me awake for a month ,"drive me ",drive me" all day and all night thats all i'd hear ,"drive me" :D

Welcome to the CAC from another member in Colorado ; congradulations on the red corvette, my favorite. Now go to the RMCSC (Rocky Mountain Corvette Social Club) site (can find it under User CP Social Groups on the CAC forum) and join us for some fun until you can accompany us to CF09 in BG for more fun.

Welcome to the :CAC Fullback! Always nice to see another Coloradoan here.

So you purchased your '89 from Rik, Jr. at Corvette Center of COS? Rik is a good guy, I'm sure you'll pleased with '89.

Yep, sure did. Rik and the folks over there are great. Been having a lot of fun with it so far. Good to know there's people who specialize in 'vette service here!

welcome to CAC!!!:welcome
enjoy!!

Another Colorado member, welcome. You are going to like it here, great people and great information. Congratulations on your dream car.

Appreciate the welcome everyone. Good to see all the Colorado members. Red Vette - will definitely be checking out the RMCSC. I like the sound of that. The wife thought it was a great idea to have a club that is just about "fun in the 'vette"!

I am impressed with the knowledge and well written posts here. Though it's in good condition, of course, there are a few things that a 20 year old used car will need. By reading through so many posts here, I've already decided to go ahead and do a R134 conversion on the A/C instead of recharging the R12 (actually I'm going to have a shop do this as A/C systems are beyond my experience). I, like a lot of others apparantly, am also having some rough idling when the engine gets to running temp. The search engine here is really good and found a LOT of posts concerning this issue. Now I know where to start so I'm not fumbling around and spending unnecessary time and money to correct this. Thanks everyone!

You're fortunate to have learned about the wave and discovered the CAC early in your Vette ownership. I was on my second Vette after owning the first for 3 years before I found the CAC and learned about the wave. :ugh I'd been impressed with all the friendly Vette owners who waved at me and of course I always waved back. But I didn't realize it was a requirement for Corvette ownership. :L

Just be aware that sometimes you will not get a :w returned. Do not flip out! They might have not seen you. They might be talking on their cell phone. They might just be day-dreaming.

At any rate, keeping :w and enjoy your Vette!

THANKS FOR HELPING SAVE THE :w!
