Hello Everyone,

I now own a 1980 Corvette and it is my first car. I am 15 and cant drive it until June, when I am able to drive. My dad told me to join a Corvette forum because it is where I can get a wealth of knowledge to get my car to where it needs to be. I see that there are many different styles and names to mine but I don't even know what to call mine, except a Corvette. The title has 2S body type?

My dad paid $3k for it. It needs lots of TLC motor and tranny seems solid. I am gonna start working on all the running gear first then worry about the body and paint later. But first new tires.

Here is a picture of the car.

BTW...I go by RJ. I play football, baseball and Im trying out for basketball next season.

any advice for things to look for with my new Corvette would be cool.

Oh yeah..one more thing we are not the rich kind of well off. I will have to earn my money to fix it up with some help from dad.
So I guess Im saying I'm not a snotty rich kid. lol

Congrats RJ and welcome to the Corvette Action Center! :upthumbs

I'm not sure what the 2S body type means on your title, but you might want to post the question down in the C3 forum below this one.

Welcome RJ.

Welcome to CAC, RJ. The 2S, I think refers to "2 doors".

RJ,

Welcome to the Corvette Action Center and CONGRATS on "your new" C3.
There aren't many 15 year olds that havet their own car let alone a Corvette. I'm sure you'll be the envy of every guy in your high school class when you get that car looking the way you want it and I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding a girl for the prom or the High School dances!

Congrats man,

Hi RJ,

It's so nice to have you join the Corvette Action Center! It's also great that you chose a Corvette for your first car. You will love that car forever because you will be working on it yourself. Send us pictures as you go along. We love seeing these works in progress!

Atta boy Kid...nothing like a good C3 to get you into the world of Corvettes.......enjoy it but respect it.....which much power comes much responsibility......:thumb

CONGRATS RJ. You will enjoy. My son turns 15 in July and I plan to grace him with the keys to my '81. The best thing that could happen to a 15 y.o. is a C3!
