Hello friends,
I just recently purchased my first Corvette! It is a 1999 Hardtop with 40k miles. A quick question for you tech dudes - when the car idles I feel a very slight kick from the motor intermittantly- sort of like a misfire. No codes are stored and it peforms normally. I know that this may be normal for chevy V8's as I've noticed this with many other chevy's before. But if it were your car would you throw some fresh spark plugs in it? That and what kind of plugs are best for the motor?
Just a small worry. Aside from that I am absolutely thrilled to have a car like this and I can't wait to learn more from you guys! Thanks.

Servo,
Congratulations on your purchase! And most of all, welcome to the CAC!

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to answer your question. Just wanted to welcome to the Corvette family.

Don't forget to wave!

Welcome to the CAC! And I must say that you made an selection for your first Corvette. ;) Mine does the same thing. I am also thinking about putting some plugs and wires in it to see if it helps but in the year and a half that we've had it it's performed flawlessly. Our car has a small list of mods including cold air box, exhaust and LS1 edit so my assumption was that the mods contributed to the "miss". But when you stomp on the go pedal there is no hesitation and she's a screamer. It will be interesting to hear other's thoughts on this.

BTW, which color did you get? I really like the FRC body style.

Update your Profile under User CP and add that 99 under "My Corvette"!

And a fine choice you have made :upthumbs Mine has 42k miles on it, runs smooth as silk. Plugs are actually a 100k mile replacement item I believe. But if you want a fresh set it sure won't hurt anything. My choice would be the updated AC iridium direct replacement for the factory plug. If the PCM has been updated it already has the correct parameters in memory for the new plug.
