This is an old rant of mine and I suppose there is not a lot of design flexibility for a lift. HOWEVER, every time I see another lift, it looks exactly like every other lift, regardless of manufacturer or country of origin. The only difference is price. So why bother with any other consideration than price? Even the "safety features" are the same - positive locking dogs that jump into cut outs in the posts.
OK, so I'm naive. I would have thought there were at least some differentiating points. Heck, the electric motor-driven hydraulic pump mechanism can be bought from Harborfreight. Before you know it, you'll be buying lifts at WalMart. You'll need a BIG shopping cart for that puppy.
