Hey everybody-
I've been thinking...
Is it possible to buy a new LT1? If so, just how much would this puppy cost me?

How much to have it installed? A ballpark figure please.

Thanks, Vee93

Why the confusion, Ken? I'm talking about a new motor for my '93. The engine is an LT1, 300hp, 350ci.

Now that I've diffused the confusion, my question remains--

Is it still possible to purchase a new engine?

Thanky,V

Oh, now I see (said the blind man :cool). Honestly, I do not know if the engine is available new from GM; I doubt it very seriously. There are, however, many other choices available through GM Performance. ;)

I believe you can get an LT1 but would have to check with GM, I know they were offering a LT4 and L98 for a while. the L98 was a short block only and the LT4 was set up for a carb.

If ya got the dough! go LPE 383, impressive numbers and awsome reliability, remember , Ya Get what ya pay for!!!!:beer

And a pretty good warranty of 2/24k, it will cost ya 15K, but well worth it, definetly not for the weak and meager, lol, check out there site.:beer

LT1's are out there in remanufactured form with warranties. I don't know why you are discounting Remans. A good shop will give you better than new LT1's. I saw an add not too long ago for a base stock LT1 (long block) for around $2500, (keep in mind this is from memory). It did not include intake man. or distributor (Optispark) I think. It had LT1 heads and the bottom end etc. I did a search on the Web under LT1 when I found this. Yes! there are a ton of hits so you will need to spend some time and sift through them on the Web. If you are dead-set on new then try Scoggin Dickey, they appear to be a big player in selling NEW engines from GM. You will most likely pay top dollar but they should have some idea where to find one if they don't carry the stock replacement LT1's.
Good luck...
