Other than a rebuild of the original, what is the best replacement water pump for a 327/350 stock set up? Is the GM aluminum pump at Summit a good choice? Thanks.

I can't answer your question but I can give you some advice.

Do not buy over the counter rebuilt or new pumps. They are pieces of crap and not suitible for higher revving engines.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you get a pump with the correct flange location. I think this changed in the late 60's.

I purchased a rebuilt pump from Arthur Gold on the east coast. He is the premier pump rebuilder in the Corvette world. It cost me $86 shipped with a special roller bearing and heavy duty casting. If you ship him yours he will rebuild it with a very quick turn around time.

I don't think an aftermarket will buy you anything but headaches.

Good. Another '67 owner. Welcome to :CAC

Now, now.

We ALL know the '67 owners are grandstanders. Heck, ANYONE can take the easy way out and buy a '67. SOME of us prefer the more robust approach of a '65 or '66.

The fact that my '65 is trimmed out like a '67 has NOTHING to do with this discussion.

Sixt7,

If you're going to stick with original rebuilt, some other numbers to consider:

Goat Hill Classics, 562-437-7664

Long Island Corvette Supply 631-225-3000

Arthur Gould sounds good as well.

Welcome to CAC

Thanks for all the welcomes and good advice. Went with Arthur Gould and pump should be here in a few days. Was a pleasure dealing with them on the phone...was expecting the usual hassles but this was a refreshing auto parts experience...extremely helpful!!

Hi SIXt7

Welcome to the CAC. I have heard about Arthur Gould before but have never used him. It's good to hear some good reviews. Keep us posted on your experience with him.

I wouldn't recommend buying anything from Goat Hill unless you cash-and-carry it at a show and know exactly what you're buying.

No, I know better. Check out the long thread from 2-3 days ago on the Goat on the NCRS board.
