Hello all, brandnew member to the site.

I just traded my 03 Z06 for a Black 07 Convertible. I am hearing plasitc creaking noises during low speed manuevers.

Is this normal?

Probably. If it's the same ones I'm hearing in/on mine, it sounds as if the creaking is coming from the tops lid or waterfall area behind the seat??

BTW - Welcome to CAC!!

I'm not hearing anything like that on my '08 vert. Try lubricating the weather stripping around the toneau cover and on the top with the proper silicon lube and see if that helps.

Oh yea::welcome

Hey Tuna, is there a recommended lubricant to use for this??

I've been using the stuff MidAmerica sells that is GM labeled - part number is 100-554 (I think, it's from an old catalog). I think your GM dealer may have a newer version out but I haven't tried it yet.

Welcome to the CAC EastNC07vetteman.

I haven't had any problems with my 07's.

welcome to the cac. have not noticed that in my new 08 so far........................................................Billy

Hey Vetteman,

Welcome to the CAC. I bought my 2007 convertible in December. I really like this car!! Although I didn't notice any major plastic noise, one evening, I lubricated all of the rubber gaskets and weather stripping. I used the GM silicon grease. Last weekend, I took it to the "Vettes Doin' Charleston" show. Even with the warm days and cool nights, I didn't notice plastic noises, at all. I believe I got the grease from MidAmerica.
I know you will enjoy your "new" Vette. :welcome

Ottomatic

If it's a creaking, popping noise coming from the rear it could be the differential. There is an advisory on it that replaces the fluid with slicker oil. Mine was making noises and it's much improved since I had it changed and the rear axle nuts tightened under warranty.
