Hey guys! My name is Philip Darby. I figured I should go ahead and introduce myself even though I don't have a Corvette yet. I am currently 17 years old and living in Upstate South Carolina. I hope to be able to buy a 1976 Corvette Stingray (that I've wanted since age 10) over the summer. Just introducing currently!

Philip, welcome to our little neck of the information superhighway! I'm assuming that you've lusted after this car for some time. I remember when I was your age and felt the same way about Corvettes. When you have a question, don't hesitate to post up, we're here to help you learn about these magnificent automobiles.

:w

Welcome to CAC!!!
enjoy!!!

I'm rather excited because I'm going to check out the Corvette later this morning. I should get some pictures up soon.

Welcome to the group. I'm sure you will find just the car you are looking for. I bought my first Corvette when I was eighteen. I still have that one. I hope you have a long and wonderful adventure with your new car as well.

uploadfromtaptalk1428855102593.jpg Here she is, 76 Stingray. It appears the entire rear bumper needs replacing, but I couldn't get a picture of it

Looks like you found the makings of a nice Stingray with some work and tender loving care :cool!: It needs to be brought back to it's days of luster and performance. . . . . A real classic you found here Phillip. Looks like it needs someone to rescue it and get it on the road to breath. Did you buy it or still negotiating?

I plan to buy it over the summer. I'm currently making carpenter bee traps to sell at a local hardware store to help out. I'm going to try to get the price down about 500 dollars, but either way it's a fair price.

Good luck to you, is in drivable now;shrug

Is it driveable? I believe so, but the plates expired in 2012, so I can assume it needs an oil change and whatnot. It has a flat upfront too.

So, while working at Ingles, I began a mental list of parts and whatnot. Does anyone know what the average price of a paint job and clear coat is?
