Mine has bottomed out enough that it is starting to show some seepage around the drain plug. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement pan or stick with the GM part. Also, is there a difference between Corvette pan (I think there is), and other small block pans?

I had my engine rebuilt locally earlier this year. My oil plug was completely gone and stripped. Had to use a rubber plug. When the engine was rebuilt, they cut out the old threaded portion and welded in a brand new one. Still have the same pan but the plug is like new.

i up graded mine to a miloden 6 quart pan with the 406. the extra oil is just a precaution, but if you are bottoming out and hitting the pan, i would tend to stick with stock. the six qt pan sits an inch lower than stock. get some measurements off the old pan, i think they are the same as 4x4 trucks, and go to the junk yard for $5. or you could buy a nice new chrome unit!
