Tom, they look SUPER . the wheels really changed an allready great looking car. details, details - what brand and size are the wheels? tire size backspacing, any problems with fitment?
Obviously i am going against the tide of opinion here, --but you just pushed my button, as to me the OEM's look far more modern and in keeping with the styling-mode of the car; --and i'me not just picking on this one example, --personally i think ALL of the cars having these corney-looking old-fashioned cart-wheels (like on the 1920's cars) look stilted ("unfast") in their appearance! That's a gorgeous '82-3Vettte which is making those slow-wheels look quite decent actually; --and furthermore it was a dreary looking day when the original wheels were photographed by way of comparison! --Maybe its just a case of "what's old, -is new again" (to those of younger years)! The aftermarket wheel-business largely prospers based upon people wanting to place their own "signature" upon their vehicle; -so yes that has been achieved here to some extent. However, if one wanted to keep the original wheels, yet add their custom touch, --painting the wheels a matching body-color, -with only the outer/rim-edge polished-aluminum, --would to me be much more interesting from a stylistic point of view! Anyone else willing to venture their opinion about the look of cart-spoke wheels, --as long as it is an "honest opinion" we should respect it either way (probably what Heidi is feeling also, --but she's very kindly!).... ~Bob vH ad :dance
FYI- I have had my wheels for about two years. They aren't being made any more!!!! Thats the only concern for a great set of wheels - they will eventually be PHASED OUT OF PRODUCTION!!!
Are your wheels 16s? I bet they made a huge difference in cornering.
i respect your opinion about the old wheels, and if heidi feels the same way i'm not offended. But i'm 21 and those wheels were as old as me. I really like the look of the new rims, and you're right, it is about putting my own signature on the car, and in my opinion the new 17's look way better than those old rims.
