1996 Black on Black
Well everything finally on the car. I replaced the rims, tires and rotors. The car is really dirty but I thought I would post these pictures to see what everyone thinks. It took me forever to decide what to go with because I tend to keep everything original. Undecided if I will paint the caliper. Anyway if I do I was thinking about going with black. The rims are 18 inch all the way around. I've kept everything I've replace on this car even the original mufflers.

Thanks,

Looks great!! Where did youg get your rotors, im in the market for some new ones.

That looks awesome! I would love to do that. Don't have the $ right now. It is on my list. I would paint calipers red, but if you like black , go w/ it. Will look great either way. Nice job! Guy

After I decided that I only needed them for looks I went back to Ebay for the purchase. The trick was making sure I got the correct size.

Wow, that looks very good! Personally, I would paint the calipers red. The red and black really make each other stand out. :D

Yeah, did that to mine too, except I went with the ZR1 style. I fussed over the color of the calipers for some time. Really wanted yellow to match compyellow body but figured I'd be forever detailing them. Finally decided to take a fine wire rotary brush and do them. They came out looking like polished stainless steel. To cover the ugly lining backing pad cut-outs I used chrome "wool hole-plugs". Got them in the hardware section of Lowe's. They popped right in but I put a dab of black silicone behind them to hold them in extra tight. The front caps were, I think 1/8" less diameter than the rears. Those chrome caps give a really finished look to the polished calipers. The last time she was judged one judge asked me where I got the caps. Said he'd never seen calipers finished off like that. Its been two years now and the caps still hold there original finish. Figured they would have rusted by now; maybe they are stainless?.

What was the damage$$$$$$ and what tires did you get??

I went with Sumitomo tires. Moving to Florida so having a summer tire only will work well. The entire package cost me about $1550 with having the tires mounted and balanced.

How do the brakes feel????????????

How does the pedal feel and how does it feel when you apply the brakes?

Does it now feel like you have a real set of brakes??

The brakes do have a more firm feel to them. I'm not sure why because I did not replace the pads. I'll wait to do that then I can investigate what type of pads to buy and what color to paint the calipers. I can somewhat feel the slots hitting the pads when I stop slow but braking does seem better than before.

Very nice. I though about the larger wheels in the back but I want to continue to rotate the tires.

I'm still in favor of painting the calipers black though. Also will investigate just cleaning them up really well. Red is my next option but I going to wait on this until after I move.
