I ended up buying a 52mm TB and put it on the car tonight. Well long story short, the hose that goes between the TB and MAF wont fit over the new TB. So now where do I need to look for a new hose?

Um. The outside diameter of the throttle body shouldn't have changed, just the inside. I used my original hose with my 52mm TB. Make sure you loosened the hose clamp fully and disconnect it from the MAF to get better leverage.

You didn't tell me it came. Do I need to put it on? Like I had to put on your runners?? :rotfl

I first just loosened the hose clamp, then after getting a little excited I took it all the way off. The TB i bought was a BBK, and it absolutely will not fit over the TB. I was kind of shocked when it didn't because no where does it say, "requires a new intake hose". Well I guess if you say it should fit, then I will try again.

What can I say justin, I needed somebody with smaller fingers!

I can say that the BBK 58 mm fits the stock accordian hose... I had one for a BRIEF time before getting a 52mm (58 is too much for most motors)... so I'm surprised you're having problems with the 52. Is it for the right year?

You might try heating up the intake rubber with a hair dryer, and stretch it over the mouth of the TB. I have a BBK 52 mm, and it fits with just a bit of a stretching.

I bought the BBK-1534 which is for 85-88 TPI. Or at least that is what my invoice says, didn't look at the box.

I boiled alot of water, and did alot of stretching, and then busted out the vaseline!

Wow this post took a turn for the worst ;LOL

But finally got it on!

4x3 rubber sewer pipe connector from 'homie depot' plumbing dept fits over the t-bod with room to spare, clamps that come with it draw rubber down to fit t-bod and maF...add a 3x3 sewer pipe connector (with a thin-wall steel pipe sleeve at joint of 4x3 and 3x3, cut sleeve from a cambells soup 18 oz can or other) to match length of oem connector (shown in back)...'flare' of the 4x3 connector should actually improve air flow a teeny bit...total cost, including a can of soup, under $20

do you have any pics for that soup can h/d thingy? would love to see it...

after seeing your avatar pic, any other can pics would be anti-climactic.

back to reality, the soup can is required if you butt (can't get that out of my mind, sorry) the 3x3 flex connector up to the 4x3 flex connector, gotta have something inside for the hose clamps on the flex to tighten down on, invisible after installation...abt a 3'' long pipe cut from the soup can (it's abt 6'' high on the shelf) works and poses minimal flow restriction due to thin wall...alternately, install the 3x3 flex between the maF sensor and the air filter housing , pushing the maF to the rear (sorry, there it is again) and the soup can is not used.

The first time is tough----heat and vasoline and it will go.
