While I have been on the other boards for a while, I decided to join this one also.

Just bought a 1970 about 2 months ago, and am enjoying it as much as possible.

Hope to learn from you guys.

Frank

Welcome to the CAC Frank!

We would love to hear more about your '70.
Good to have you here!

Bill

My slow dial-up finally downloaded your picture.

Your Vette sure looks nice. I bet it is fun to drive!

What do you have in it?

Weldome garandfan!

Welcome to Corvette Action Center.

Welcome aboard Frank. Beautiful looking roadster, tell us more about it and yourself.

Thanks Guys. Picked it up from my wife's uncle. He had it eight years with the last 6 of those years sitting idle in a garage.

It was in less than good shape when I brought it home.

It needs some body work and paint, but that will wait till I get the mechanics right with it.

Just tuned the engine. It is a 350/350 with quite a bit of internal mods. Don't know the HP yet, but will soon. bet it is pushing the 375-395 range with the current cam that is in it. Great lobe, and sounds great coming out of the lake pipes!!

Had to replace the lake pipes, they were rotted out, timing was way off, and need new ingintion stuff, i.e. points, plugs, wires, etc.

Top had went bad (he left it down for all that time), seats were BAD!! New tops, and new leather seats, and a lot of $$$ in 2 months.

It's my midlife crisis toy, and my current money pit!! :-) But I still love her!! :-)

Next up front end rebuild, and possiblly new trw rear spring.

Frank

Great looking vert. I have a 70 coupe and 2 years ago it was in similar condition as yours. Replaced cam , distributor, wires, seat covers, assorted interior pieces and guages, etc. still a work in process but now it runs great and looks pretty good. Havin a ball. Hope you enjoy yours as much. Nothing like driving on a hot summer night with the ttops off or the top down.

Take your time and do one piece at a time as time and money permit. And for God's sake drive it like you stole it!!!

Welcome Frank

Great looking car Frank. You don't happen to be off on Monday do you? Last Monday several of us CACers got together for lunch. We could have just as easily come up to Angola. Had a great day and we would like to round up some more area members and do it again.

I pull one of those green and white cryogenic trailers out of Butler. You might run into me after 3pm Tuesday through Saturday.

Small world!! Air Products driver. I work out of SDI for Omni Source!!

Did you go to the Aubrun meet last week. 167 cars there on the square. The chamber of Commerce puts this on once a month. Next up I think is August 21.

Frank

Nice looking vette. I bought mine about 3 years ago and so far have been through the enitre drivetrain from radiator to exhaust tips. I work slowly but I will eventually get there. I have lots of plans, lets just hope I can pull them off. Good luck with your vert, I am tickled with mine.

Frank,
welcome to the CAC! Your car looks awesome! Keep us posted on the restoration project.

Welcome!

:w

I love those C3's, around that year. It was one of those that made me fall for vettes as a child. There was a guy down the street with a red one. Don't know what year it was, I was too young then, but it was around a 70 or so. I remember it had the chrome bumpers, sidepipes, and a different hood with 454 on it. When he drove by, your legs shook. It was the coolest car I had ever seen.

I didn't know about it. What night was it? I'm usually working when most of the cruise nights happen.

Welcome!

Welcome to the CAC!

She may need some work, but you've got a sweet looking Vette there!

Enjoy!

I think the next Auburn meet is Sept 11th. Thursday at 6:30-8:30PM.

Losts of Vette's and hot rods, if you live close enough come on down!!

Frank

Very nice looking ride you have. Welcome and enjoy your vette

Frank:

Nice car........but then I've got a 70 red vette too. I got mine earlier this year after many years of looking and putting kids through school. Oh by the way, I worked for the French guys...Air Liquide. Small world.

I've been fixing all kinds of things....and I've never had more enjoyment 'fixing' something. I absolutely love it.

Enjoy the ride.....I think the best comment I've seen posted yet is by 70redvette.......'drive it like you stole it'. I can't agree more.....enjoy it.
