2007 Atomic Orange Coupe
Well guys, Some of you know me from the C5 side of things, but as of today I'm no longer a C5 owner. I really hated to sell the 01 coupe, but, things move on. (And Rosie wouldn't let keep two :D)

I have made a deal with a great guy on this Atomic Orange 2007 coupe. It is basically all stock with the exception of a Borla Stinger exhaust. It has the two-tone Cashmere/black seats and one other thing that is a diversion for me, 6 speed manual. Looking forward to learning how to drive the manual shift car again. My first Corvette, 1964 coupe, was a 4 speed, but the last two have been autos. Rosie would have preferred an auto, but this car fit all my requirements, was reasonably close and priced right. It is Z-51, two tops, and 32k on the clock.

I excited to start my education as a C6 owner.

beautiful!

:thumb Nanc and I are happy for you and Rosie :dance

We met the C4 and c5. Those two Corvettes never had a better home or Owners. The new C6 has no idea what it's future is going to be. If I were a Corvette YOU and ROSIE would by one of my first choices for new owners :dance

I still remember the transformation your '01 went thru at Cruisefest at Effingham. The MID AMERICAN crew did a seat transformation that changed it's entire personality... you and Rosie are real class Corvette Owners :thumb

I see your C6 being the showcase of the Prairie or anywhere esle it wanders :D

Congrats Tom & Rosie great car for a couple of great folks...

It was a great transformation, wasn't it? Rosie wasn't really keen on the idea of selling, but it was time. As far as the 07 vs 08 and newer. No real reason. I had several people try to get me to go that route, but #1I couldn't find one with the specs and color (Atomic Orange) with the miles I wanted. #2 This one is super clean and was priced right. #3 This one is within driving distance to go get.

I was a bit worried when the GS I found had a 6M in it....but after the first drive it felt good to be an active part of the cars workings.....In a big city maybe not so much but out where we live you can be in 5th or 6th for long stretches at a time......I think you will really like it......:Steer

Congrats!
I looks exactly like our "Her C6". Very nice car. Enjoy.

I think it will be a great deal. I'm hoping that Rosie will open her mind about it.

Congrats!

Sweet!

Well, the "orange monster" is home, sleeping in the garage after a quick bath to wash the bugs off. This color combo is stunning...at least in my opinion (and I know opinions are like a part of the human anatomy, and some stink ;LOL), but the Chevy people hit this one on the head. The guy I bought it from added the AO arm rests on the doors and the console door. That makes these WAY more comfortable to "rest your arms". The 6 speed manual is a blast, I forgot how much fun it is "rowing through the gears". The Borla exhaust is much more aggressive than the Corsa that I have had on the last two Corvettes. Following me on the way home (3 hour drive), Rosie told me she "could hear the exhaust, every time you leave a stop sign." :D It really isn't bad inside the car though. The radio has been changed and I had a couldn't get it to link to my phone, but the Ipod, it linked right up and played "60 on 6" on XM all the way home using the hot spot. Just have to figure out the Nav now.

Moving some stuff around.

After her quick bath.

Ready for bed.

So ... was the previous owner a Sooner or a Cowpoke?? :chuckle

Color would indicate a Cowpoke :rotfl, now it is a JayHawk or a WildCat... eh...

Bud

Well Bud, I never asked, so I can't answer that question. And as far as JH or WC......I'm not much of either, or a lot of both. :chuckle

May as well be a Husker. :cool!:

Congrats Tom!!!!
LOVE the color!!!!:thumb
Now...a road trip to Carlisle next year would be a good thing!!!!!!
pa I did see 2 vettes with Kansas plates on them....:cool!:

Bill, Carlisle is on my list of things to do. But not until I fully retire from teaching, I'm going another year.

Rosie and I did take the new car to KC this weekend. She runs like a nearly new car, which it is. Going up she made almost 29mpg on the way home 28.3, and the six speed manual is a kick. I'd forgotten how much fun it is. On the way home we met up with Huskerman in Salina, KS. Marcus drove down, over two hours to meet me there so he could "inspect" the new ride. I think he gave his approval. :happyanim: I also got to drive his GS, those are very nice cars.

here's Marcus and myself with our rides. Thanks to Rosie for taking the pictures.

Marcus is a great guy, too. :thumb

Lots of people were gawking pretty good as they went by.

Yeah I was going to start telling people it was a car show....:D Good to see old friends again and that is one fine AO 07. I got to drive it and really liked the way the Borla exhaust sounded......it was loud and sounded like muscle cars....of course me and Tom had to yell at each other to say anything.....just kidding....but my Corsas sounded pretty tame after I got back in mine. The interior of that car really works with the AO paint........very nice! :thumb

Marcus, after doing some searching I found that the Borla, does in fact, have two mufflers. One was just hidden from me. It does sound aggressive. :cool!:

Sweet!!!!
