Check out the newest Corvette Quartly magazine. It's entirely about the C6! Maybe 60+ pages of good info and reviews. Even some new stuff too that I had never heard of before. I bought two! One to drool on and the other to save...call me a nut.

Buster, I wouldn't go so far as to call you "a nut," but I admire that you sold your C5, and you're waiting out the summer to take delivery of a new C6. The anticipation has got to be hard. :L I know I'd have a hard time going through summer without my Z06.
I will admit that while I haven't been as enthusiastic about the C6, my curiosity has been aroused. I would like to see one "in person." Perhaps seeing one on the ground, rather than in pictures and descriptions, may make my mind up more in the C6's favor.

When do you actually take delivery?

Thanks CORed91

My dealer called last week for my order specifics! I think it will be officially submitted this week. The dealer says it should be a late Aug TPW...delivery one week later. So early Sept if all goes to plan!!!

Silver, 6-Spd, Coupe, Cashmere, Nav, Z51, polished wheels.

So, a little over a month to wait, then. Good thing you're in Texas, and get better winter weather than we Coloradoans do up here. If I had to wait until September, and be left with "fun" driving weather for only about another six or seven weeks, I'd be going up the wall trying to figure out a way to get the factory to hurry it up.

Make sure you post lots of pics when you take delivery!

Buster, I read the new issue of Corvette Quaterly cover to cover twice making sure I didn't miss anything. It's the first time in my long life that I have wanted to buy a car ASAP. Usually I am more practical than that. Do you know where to find the MSRP for the convertible with Z51?

They also had a picture of the original C6 design in there:

(sorry about the bad allignment... this was two separate scans)

You can see some the Aztek influence in the front and rear. Now I understand.....

Design Team: This is the new Corvette!
Bob Lutz: No, it's not!

:L

Thank god they changed it. That looks terrible.

Darn it! I can't find any newstands around here that carry Corvette Quarterly...

ok, I recontructed that pic real quick in photoshop.
Praise the lord for bob lutz!!!

All I have to say is, "thank God that concept did not see the light of production." That is just butt-ugly. There's no way to be kind about it.

It looks like a longer version of the Ford Focus and a shorter version of the Aztec!

hit the nail on the head!

I agree, this isssue of CQ did the C6 justice. I'm still not convinced until I see it on the road.

Has anyone seen the commercial for Chevy and the olympics? I saw it on one of the monitors at the movies today while on line to buy popcorn. The commercial featured olympic athletes driving to pick each other up in their Chevy's to form a convoy to Athens. The Corvette was, of course, in the lead and driven by a women swimmer. Can still see a lot of the C5 in the C6. Very cool.

Ummm, I've seen butts that looked lots better!

TG it changed.

I haven't been paying much attention to the C6's either, until recently. The C6 has just been such a long time coming, I decided a long time ago not to waste brain cells on speculation and rumor. I just filtered out most of the C6 talk.

Thursday, I was waiting to have my hair cut and picked up a magazine (I don't remember? Car and Driver maybe?) that had a review of the C6. It was a good review, and it detailed the enhancements that it has. Nice...

Then, I was sifting through the piles of magazines and came upon the Corvette Quarterly issue. WOW... the WHOLE issue is packed with C6!
I even found myself staring at ads for the thing! I love that Daytona Orange color (it matches my motorcycle!), I love the headlights, I love the design...

<sigh>
I did not need something else to want but not be able to afford.

Haven't found the Corvette quarterly issue anywhere at my local newstands....any idea how I can get a copy?
