I have an 82 Vette that I would like to put some new kicks on. I'm pretty set on the Intro Pentia wheels, and if my budget can afford it, I would also like to look into fender flares.

What are ALL the options when it comes to fender flares on my 82? Does anyone have pictures of a late model Vette with fender flares but no side-pipes?

What's the largest size rim I can fit in on my car with and without fender flares?

I have searched around, but I just want to make sure before I put my money down on this 4k+ project.

Thanks
Shane

Hey flynbyu82

Heres a link from one of the other members at CAC, in regards to flares and the "How to" of installing them.

http://mcspeed.homestead.com/Flare_Install.html

Obviously theres the L88 type, and ACI do a slightly different type I think, based on previous threads posted. Rim then dependant on the width of the flare plus existing space.

As far as without flares, I think (and stand to be corrected) the max rear spacing is about 4 1/2 " with std trailing arms or 6 1/2" with re-profiled trailing arms (see avalible from most vette specialists). Therefore the max rim width is based on these figures (as above) plus face of hub to guard, say 5" to 51/2". therefore 11- 12" rear rims are possible. Also remember tire width choice is a contributor to prevent rubbing.

I'm sure someone will correct me if this is not right! I dont proclaim to be an EXPERT!!! ;LOL ;LOL ;LOL (see my other thread)
Good Luck
