Im new to the corvette and after reading some things about the competitive driving mode and just traction off im still confused on it, what exactly does competitive driving do and what mode would be better for racing at the track? If there is even much difference between the different modes.
 
OK the C5 has ABS (always active) and TC and may have AH (active handling). AH was not initially available and then became an option from 98-2000 and then standard in 2001. You are correct CM just deletes TC but retains AH and ABS.

Based on your capability and type of course CM can be effective. That's why GM offered it.
