since I got the valve covers off yesterday I was finally able to check the casting stamps and date codes on my heads which are the only items I wasn't able to check when I purchased the car.

drivers side head:
461 head with a date code of B 9 5 = Feb 9th, '65

Passenger side head:
461 head with a date code of B 8 5 = Feb 8th, '65

my motor block casting date isn't the easiest to read but it looks to be B 11 5 which would be Feb 11th, '65.

this makes a nice tight dating between the block and the heads.

My car was the last VIN# in Feb's production (VIN is listed as the last VIN for the month in the NCRS books) so I figure car's birthday is Feb 26th, '65 which was the last working day of the month that year. the 26th was a Friday.

great, I have a late Friday car ............. aren't you suppose to avoid Mon and Fri cars? ;LOL
