I previously posted some questions about my 84 stalling. The dealership said they did not find any codes and could not duplicate the problem. I've had it stall three more times since picking it up from them. I did notice the check engine light was on after the engine stalled on at least one of those times.
This morning I jumped A&B with a paperclip and got the 12 code to flash three times and I watched for the next set of codes. But I got none. It immediately went to flash the 12 code again three times. So there were no codes thrown again. I'm truly at a loss for what could be the problem now.
I've not change the oxygen sensor and I doubt it has ever been changed. I tried to change it once and I couldn't get under enough to get good leverage to remove it. So I opted to leave it alone.
Many of you have had some good suggestions on things to try. If anyone else has other ideas, please let me know. I've found that if you blip the throttle while in neutral, it will ocassionally stall. The vehicle is an automatic. However, the three times it has stalled on me have been while driving and slowing down for a stop light or while sitting in traffic and it just dies.
Thanks again for the help. My wife and I are frustrated and have little faith in it at the moment. So we don't drive it beyond a small radius of the area in case we need to have the other person come pick us up.
Thanks,
John
