After sitting over night my 87 will fire right up. It will run for about 5 minutes before shutting down. It might fire on the next try but for only a second or it may just sputter. No fuel at the rails. Any ideas? Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Can you hear the fuel pump run when you key up?

Do you have a Factory Service Manual?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge?

Check fuel pressure, if it slowly drops it could be a clogged fuel strainer on the pump, a clogged fuel filter, or a bad pump. The fuel pump is a snap to replace on C4's. Here is what a clogged strainer looks like: fpstrainer.JPG

If the pressure is OK then drops rapidly, it could be the oil pressure sender (Or lack of oil pressure) since the pump is ON in START and only maintained ON if the oil pressure sender is >7 PSI or so.

White Flag

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have tried everything I could of, your thoughts, and a few more things. NO LUCK. I give up. Had it towed to a dealer. I know it will cost me but obviously my diagnostic skilles with electronics is not good enough. I need to get back to non computerized vehicles. I could always figure them out.
