my 82 vette would not start when I came out of auto zone ran fine going there not geting any pulse at the injector wires but does have spark at the plug wires can someone help thanks. JOE

Hi Joe,
I've been chasing this same problem off and on for a year. The ECM looks for spark and oil pressure before it lets the car start. It could be that your fuel pump died, but there are fuses for the injectors, the fuel pump and the ECM that need to be checked. The fuel pump relay can also be the problem, it is in the battery compartment in front of the ECM, you have to remove the ECM to get to it. In my case, I can put in a new pump and the car will work for a while and then quit again. I'm now rewiring the fuel pump assembly that is in the gas tank thinking that I have an intermittant wire break. Good luck with your problem, these guys on CAC know a lot about crossfires and are very helpful.

Thanks Tom, I too put a new fuel pump about three mounts ago old one did not work in the car but I tried it yesterday "just because" and when I put 12V to it it worked just fine, so I have no ideaI still have to check the + and- wires thanks for the info JOE

Hi Joe,
Just to update, I replaced the positive wire in the tank with one of the extra wires that came with the fuel pump. The pump ground is soldered to the bracket, so I left that wire alone. I left the same fuel pump in that I recently replaced. Anyway, the car is running again.
Hope this helps,
Tom
