The 96 CE I am looking at has no spare. I assume that it must have run flats. How do they work.

Run flat tires have extra stiff side walls that are strong enough to support the weight of the car without air in the tire. The stronger the side wall, the longer you can drive without air. GoodYear GSC-EMTs and F1-EMT's are good for 200miles. Michilen, Firestone, etc., are only good for 50 miles without air. Since runflats don't feel flat when they are low on air, the car should have Low Tire Pressure Warning System installed and working - The DIC should show a LTPWS light on start up indicating the self test of the system.

Check the side walls of the tires on the car just to make sure it has runflats. If it does not, make sure it has a flat repair kit somewhere in the car. Check the RPO list on the rear compartment lid for N84 and JU6 - spare tire delete option and low tire pressure warning system. Let us know what you find.

Hey Tuna,

Sorry to jump thread but why the hash marks on the picture of car? Just curious. I know the hash marks on the GS. Thanks

My car is painted like a 'reverse' version of a Grand Sport. White diamond with a Radar Blue stripe and fender flares, so the hash marks just have to be there.
Check out the photo gallery at www.grandsportregistry.com and search for Tuna.

Now back to the thread.
