has anyone seen this before. I returned to my vette, (91 roadster L98, AT) from the office to attempt to go out to lunch. When I inserted the key and turned the ignition I observed normal luminent indication in the instrument panel, and the fuel pump did energize like normal, however the starter solenoid did not engage and the starter subsequently did not turn over. After examining the Ignition connector and battery terminal for a secure connection, I found nothing loose. I then kept cycling the ignition switch back and forth through the motions while attempting to shift from park to nuetral shifting from Park to neutral was no help, then tilting the steering wheel from full up to down was also no help, turning the wheel from R to L, also no help. Then after several more seconds of cycling the ignition switch she turned over. Is this a frequent occurance with the Ignition Key Passive system or is this the beginning of something I better investigate?

no start

first thing i would try is clean the resistor pellets on key starting fluid or rubbing alcohol pellets just might be dirty or try second key easy things first geo

If key doesn't seem to be the problem the next thing to check would be the neutral safty switch.

It is not totally uncommon for todays batteries to experience a sudden separation internally rendering the battery 99.9% to 100% dead immediately. I would take the battery somewhere and have it tested. Most places that sell batteries will test it for free.

Good luck,
