Question: Noise from rear on 1978

Hi, New to the forum with a question:
Has anybody experienced a noise ( thump) from rear only when you initially start rolling the car after shifting it into a gear. I wonder if it a suspension problem.

I look forward to hear if this is common and what is the likely cause for it. New project, 1978 silver anniversary with a rebuild motor and I am doing the interior resto wright now.

Yes, very common. Check the rubber bushing at the front of the differential. Cheap and easy to replace, avoid the 'poly' type, use rubber.

Wow, Thank you for a quick answer. I will look into it this weekend and will see if I can order it or pick it up at a local dealership.
