I think in that same issue they did a comparo between a '68 427 Vette and a '68 Shelby GT500 KR.

I think you are right. I remember seeing that. If I remember correctly, it had the same result. They had borrowed a couple of survivors from the owners. They were looking for as close to stock as they could get. It is not as if you can go get some loaners from GM and Ford!

John - I think the operative words in the quote were "most" any vette. And I'm sure it wasn't a fair race considering your superior car and skill level.
