Hi CAC members..quick question....Are both the horn and the windshield wipers operated off the same fuse? Both of mine are not working and I assume that may be the culprit. Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,

Andy

Not working..horn and wipers

Andy it could be a ground wire , a couple of years ago my wipers and heater stop working , it ended up a ground wire wasn't making a good connection Check your grounds . Hope this will solve your problem .

Andy,

The fuse box should be marked with what each fuse controls. If you take a flashlight and stick your head under the dash you should be able to see if both are controlled off one fuse.

Andy, they are separate on my 82.

Nope, they're separate circuits - the horn circuit is fed battery power at all times (key on or off), and the wiper motor is fed ignition-switched power.

Thank you all....Horn was a simple fuse......Wipers were fixed as well.....

Hi Bob..Wipers were a loose connection. Pennsylvania has some tight inspection standards...my '79 passed, but i may have bigger problems (sigh)..my differential...See my thread " differential acting up"..

Thanks..

Andy

81 also has seperate fuses for Wiper & Horn circuits. The idea of the ground being problem, especially if both go to the same ground point. Does your 76 wiper have delay speed control, as well as fixed speed switch positions? My 81 wiper system is fairly complex, two seperate fuses are used to pwr it's operation. Parts stores like AutoZone have after market shop manuals that may have the wiring info you need.
