My 2000 Vert is out of warranty, and I believe that I have a bad O2 sensor. The "check engine " light has come on two or three times over the last month or so. I think that I may have gotten some bad gas following the hurricanes here in FL. I think I recall that 02 sensors are classified as emissions related and that the warranty for emissions related is somewhat longer that the 3 yr., 36,000 mile warranty. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The last thing I read about emmision warranty was 75,000 miles. This included any component related to engine control as it is all related. This is the Federal mandated warranty.

Wow, that is pretty sweet.

That should mean that Ron should be able to bring the car into the dealership, have them scan that code and have it replaced at no cost, right?

The code could be related to anything. A 2000 model is much more complex than mine or your model Corvette.

I've worked on OBDII cars before and it's actually easier than OBDI because the scanner tells you exactly what to look for. :D

I thought that when the check engine light came on, it was a signal that something is wrong relating to emissions equipment.
