Odometer

In a 1985 corvette ( 84-89) in the digital dash there is a two pin connector driving a small electric motor( internal of the dash cluster ) which in turn runs the ODO, there is no mechanical speedo cable. The speed sence comes from a pulse generator mounted on the tail of the tranny. The first question does your speedo work? 2) How many miles on the car? 3) Does your cruise work? 4) Does the electronic trip indicator function correctly?

TYPICALLY the ODO gears come out of contact with the motor.

The repair usually involves pulling the dash out, at the same time have the bulbs for the dash changed.

ODOMETER ISSUE

MILEAGE: 87500

THE CRUISE DOES WORK, ELECTRIC TRIP INDICATOR DOES WORK

Out comes the Dash!

Well one of 3 possibilities
1) Motor in ODO dead
2) Drive circut dead
3) Gears in ODO dead

Watch the 1/10 mile in the ODO closely and see if it tries to turn.

e mail me for additional info.

Mike
