Yup, did I commit a sin?

I needed a new air filter today and went to find a cone shaped K&N. I searched all over town with no luck. Finally I went back to the first store I shopped and explained what I was looking for.

He guided me over to the import intake section. I found an air filter that fit the MAF. It has a chrome base and the end cap is painted red, the same as my car. :D Im actually stoked about it. It looks good.

Oh well, more air flow and good looks....call me a ricer :eyerole :D :beer

I'll see if I can get a pic.

Yes, please post a pic. I'd like to see how it looks. I hope your having fun with your TT!

I'll take a pic tomorrow....I really like it. The fact that it was 1/2 the price of the K&N and its a perfect paint match is just a bonus :D

The red probably looks sharp :)

Now if you put that red sparkle tire gel on your tires... :(
(as I recently saw on another Vette :eyerole )

I may have a red air filter but that tire gel?????

No way...:(

Heres the pics....I couldn't wait. But I haven't yet cleaned under the old intake box so don't blast me too hard....Im off tomorrow so I plan on doing it then.

I will get those tomorrow and post them after I get done cleaning my car.

air filters

when i first brought my car to callaway in 95 the top mechanic and manager was george. (long gone now) when i asked about putting in a k&n air filter he told me on dyno tests there was no difference in twin turbo cars.

Looks good, and doesn't look like rice to me!

Maybe be true to that effect... but hey it's re-usable.. just be careful how you clean and re-oil them.. because if you do it incorrectly you can end up getting excess oil on the hot wire in the MAF and cause in-accurate readings.. in my biz working on daily drivers mostly.. We hear then K&N filters being talked down about how they make the MAF dirty but thats because most/some people over oil them or try using the wrong type oil.. so all in all I like K&N filters they may provide a performance gain but they also provide long service life if maintained properly..
