On another site I saw a catch can made out of a air compresser filter from Home Depot, looked pretty good and seemed to work.Has anyone here seen it and what do you think?:confused also cheap!

earnestD, I'm fairly new to the C5 platform, what's the deal with the oil catch can? I see them, but not sure why you need one... if you do. ;shrug

I have seen threads about them but wonder if they are really needed on stock vettes.I like doing little projects on my vette but is this one worth it?I have cleaned my throttle body a few times and saw maybe a thimble full of oil inside thats it!Why did'nt G.M. install one from the factory if it was so importent to the motor?

Well, what I have heard is all LSx engines are susceptible to the issue, if they are 'run hard'. So, what exactly does this mean? I doubt it will be a problem with my car. I doubt it will be a problem with my pickup, which has the 5.3 and I work it harder than the Vette. I'm not convinced that I need one.

Well for what it's worth...I installed mine and it seems to actually keep the rear much cleaner the exhaust pipes too....I guess less or no oil is being sent thru the intake and coming out the exhaust ? If that is the only benefit....it's worth it to me.
