Not quite the same as the usual "what oil filter" questions...

I'm installing a remote filter mount. So, I can fit a 2-quart filter without a problem.

What's a good 2-quart filter, preferrably with an anti-drainback valve, and preferrably something that I can actually get (nothing exotic that no one stocks)?

Only real requirement, dimensionally, is 13/16 thread, since my filter mount is that thread. It's supposed to be able to accept both the large and small O-ring patterns.

Thanks,
Joe

You don't need an anti-drainback valve unless you mount the filter upside-down (like Ferrari does) or sideways. Many truck applications use long 2-quart filters.

Good point. I was thinking that it would prevent the oil from draining back, but I just re-considered: since the filter is the highest point in the system, there isn't much above it...

I guess, to be effective, a check valve like that would need to be installed down at the engine.
